Student should bring to each lesson:
• Oboe
• 2-3 good reeds
• Sheet Music for upcoming performances, auditions, and method books (see "Music" below).
• Spiral Notebook: In this book, we will record special exercises, alternate fingerings, phrasing ideas, assignments for the next week, etc.
Students should practice oboe no less than five days a week for at least 30 minutes a day. It needs to have a priority similar to homework in order for students to progress.
Music will be acquired based on student levels and goals. Here is a general guide for different levels:
Beginning Oboe:

You may text, call, voicemail, or email me. I do not keep my phone on during rehearsals, concerts, or lessons, but I am prompt with returning calls and responding to emails.
$60 for a 30 minute lesson.
$85 for a 60 minute lesson.
This includes time spent on bookkeeping and scheduling. Please try to do administrative planning in advance through email or by phone/text.
Travel fee may be added based on location.
Payments are due at the first lesson of each month for the full month, typically 3, 4 or 5 weeks. Missed weeks for holidays can be rescheduled or skipped. Extra lessons can be added for special performances. Try to discuss this before the first lesson of the month.

Scheduling conflicts should be disclosed as early as possible. If the student needs to cancel or reschedule, a minimum of 48 hours notice must be given to avoid paying for the missed lesson. An excused absence will be replaced with a makeup lesson if scheduling allows it, or with a credit for the following month.
There are a number of professional reedmakers that can supply you with quality hand-made oboe reeds. Students are encouraged to try various sources. See the Resources page.
